I might have said this, but it doesn’t show me anywhere that I did, so I will try one more time:
I am so bummed I missed this call!! So I am going to add some thoughts here. I could totally relate to Jennifer’s “overwhelmed.” When I was watching this and when I went through my worksheet (since that was one of my feelings as well) I realized that one way that I get out of that spiral is doing the “important” things instead of focusing so much on the “immediate” things. By important, I mean things that help me connect with my people. If I sit and read with Miriam or do math with her, I get so much more energy and then I am more able to get up from that interaction and face the things that are more “urgent” because I have more peace and confidence. I feel so much more capable because I was just teaching my daughter, how awesome is that! (Of course sometimes our reading involves foot or back massages for everyone, so that doesn’t hurt either:).)

I think overwhelm has become a default setting for so many of us! This thought work has changed everything for me precisely because I am so much more capable of handling overwhelm. It is so easy to spin our wheels and try to avoid feeling it, but simply getting present, finding some connection, and focusing on creating the feeling we need to fuel the action that needs to be done works. It just works!
